What is Soy Wax Frosting?

While it can happen with any natural wax, frosting is most commonly seen with soy. And it shows—yahoo!—that your candle is made with 100% pure, natural soy. In fact, soy candle enthusiasts look for frosting to ensure they’re getting pure soy wax and the benefits it touts.

Frosting on soy wax candles is natural and can be expected.Frosting occurs when oils are combined with soy wax, particularly during temperature fluctuations. Polymorphism, which causes a substance to form crystals unpredictably, is responsible for forming frosted crystals. It’s just aesthetic and has no bearing on the candle’s functionality.

If you do not like the look of frosting Soy wax may not be for you. Currently we offer a Palm Paraffin blend as well. This blend is not prone to frosting. We look forward to adding more wax options in the furture.

HOW TO CUSTOMIZE AND MIX&MATCH

Customize and mix and match your wax melts and Candles in a few easy steps;

1. Select a Shaped Melt or Candle

2. Find your desired Shape/Colour Combination (No Colour is available)

3. Click on your selection then select a Scent (there is a No Scent option)
4. Select your Wax Type

5. Select your Quantity

6. Add to Cart

It is important to note that bulk orders may need to be made for you as the quantity you require might be higher than the stock available. These fresh made candles will require 5 days to cure.

Keep your Pets Safe! Which ESSENTIAL OIL scents are not safe for your furry friends

Essential oils can be toxic to cats.

Not only can they cause irritation in their respiratory tract when inhaled, but they can cause more serious systemic problems as well, including liver failure.

Cats do not have the correct enzymes within their liver to break down chemicals within certain essential oils.

These essential oils can cause problems with cats whether they are ingested or absorbed across their skin.

Essential oils to avoid if you have a cat:

  • Oil of wintergreen
  • Oil of sweet birch
  • Citrus oil
  • Pine oils
  • Peppermint oil
  • Ylang Ylang oil
  • Cinnamon oil
  • Pennyroyal oil
  • Clove oil
  • Eucalyptus oil
  • Tea tree oil

*Dogs* Just like with cats, dogs can also be sensitive to the smoke and scents that comes from burning incense.

Dogs with pre-existing respiratory issues and brachycephalic breeds (pugs, bulldogs, shih tzus, “smoosh faced” dogs) are more at risk.

Soy Wax and Colour Expectations

Not every wax behaves the same. Colours will not present the same in Soy wax as they do in Palm or Paraffin waxes. We currently offer Soy Wax and a Palm/Paraffin Blend. Our Soy wax colours will present predominatly as pastal. *as seen in the picture. The Palm Paraffin blend will present with brighter colours like the paraffin example. Since the Palm/Paraffin wax is a blend, this wax will have a uniform colour unlike pure Palm Wax.

Imperfections

All of our Candles are Hand Poured and not mass produced. This means there may be slight differences in colour from batch to batch. This also means there may be slight imperfections such as small bubbles or tiny knicks present in some of our products.
